The Biokip Gallery opens its doors from the 7-4 to the 30-4 to host the works of Dave the Chimp, one of the leading figures of the whole street art movement, in an expo titled “If Television is your God, is Jesus the Remote Control?”.
An expo promising to make us think.

When Dave the Chimp started working in the streets a decade ago, his work was designed to make people think. It was of the utmost importance to him to jolt the zombies out of the everyday life that they expected, and to engage their minds. One of the ways he approached this was to paint images based around religion. The streets around his studio would regularly play host to angels and devils, robot gods, and Jesus riding a skateboard. What did the viewers of these creations think? Did they wonder if a religious nut was on the loose? Did they consider that maybe God was watching them, or that the second coming would be borne on the back of a skateboard?

It was some years later, while reviewing his earlier work, that the Chimp realised his images of a carefree skateboarding Jesus, and a bald-headed angry God were representations of himself and his father. Though simple and cartoon like, his artwork often has a deeper meaning, something which even the Chimp doesn't always see at first.

In todays art world, concept is king - something the Chimp sees as separating art from the majority of viewers. Why should you have to read an essay before you understand the art? Isn't it better to present ideas in a simple way, and leave the rest up to the mind of the viewer? If you're told what to think, then where is the space for your own thoughts? The Chimp aims to create art that is a launch pad for your own thoughts and feelings.

For his first solo show at Biokip gallery in Milan, the Chimp will be returning to the theme of religion in a show titled "If Television Is Your God, Is Jesus The Remote Control?". He aims to create a show that requires your participation. So switch off your television, switch on your brain, and come visit the show.

Biokip Gallery’s an underground reality that’s into contemporary arts expos organization by years, and speaks with the particular voice of the most innovative and creative languages.
The new expo will be a collective, hosted in Milan on April, turning around the betrayal’s figure, painted with ironic colours and with a detached smile.
There’s no reason to be ashamed, was someone unfaithful to you? Don’t hide it, show it! That’s the right moment to free your soul from the memory of your traitor: confine it in the Biokip Gallery’s new art show.
Give vent to your fantasy, create an artwork (graphics, illustrations, photos, paintings, they’re all good. technical requirements: digital, 350 dpi resolution, or handmade, dimensions 12 cm x 30 cm) and send it to the gallery. You should then write your name, piece title, your contacts, and also a disclaimer text in which you say that the artwork is yours, and that you allows the gallery to use it in the expo) if you’ll pass the selection your work
will find space in the art-show for sure.

“Zoccoletti e Zoccolette”
La Biokip Gallery è una realtà attiva da tre anni che ospita periodicamente esposizione di arti contemporanee: tra grafica, pittura, illustrazione, street-art, fotografia, video art e installazioni si presenta come lo specchio delle più eclettiche culture, e controculture, underground.
Nella prossima mostra collettiva, ospitata a Milano nel mese di aprile, il team di artisti e creativi Biokip affronta il tema del tradimento in chiave ironica, ma mai banale, col suo solito modo insolito, e in un mix di immagini, parole, oggetti e suoni.
Il titolo dell’esposizione quindi non poteva che essere “Zoccoletti e Zoccolette”, una liberatoria celebrazione di una serie di traditori e tradimenti, che invita tutti a dimenticarsi serenamente del proprio zoccoletto (o zoccoletta) senza vergogna, ma a testa alta.
E dato che il tradimento nessuno se lo cerca, ma capita comunque a tutti, la Biokip Gallery a tutti desidera offrire la possibilità di dire, e dare, la sua: vi siete imbattuti in uno zoccoletto? Non tenetevelo per voi, perché non lo mettete in mostra?
Armatevi di carta e penna, pennello o spray, digitale e pc, insomma, date sfogo alla vostra creatività e spedite il vostro lavoro alla Biokip Gallery (comprensivo di generalità, contatti, liberatoria per l’esposizione, titolo e autocertificazione di proprietà del pezzo. Dimensioni e definizioni richieste: 12cm x 30cm in caso di tele ecc. e 350 dpi per grafiche ecc.) se passerete la selezione nella nuova collettiva “Zoccoletti e Zoccolette” ci sarete anche voi.
Cosa aspettate? Non vi sentirete mica in colpa, vero?

La Biokip Gallery est un groupe actif depuis trois ans, il accueil des expositions d'arts contemporaines de Graphismes, de peintures, d'illustrations, de steet-arts, de photos, de vidéos artistiques et d'installations.
Elle se présente comme le miroir de la culture ou de la contreculture underground.
Dans la prochaine exposition collective, qui auras lieu à Milan durant le moi d'Avril, lors du salon du meuble, le groupe d'artistes et de créatifs Biokip affronte le thème de la trahison de façon ironique mais jamais banale, avec son habituel façon inhabituel de nous emmener dans un tourbillon d'images, de mots, d'objet, et de son.
Le titre de l'exposition, étant italienne, ne pouvait être que « Zoccoletti e Zoccolette », ce qui en français signifie littéralement les plaintes du parquet, mais qui officieusement sont les traitres et les traitresses. Cette exposition est une libre célébration des traitres et de la trahison, qui nous invite tous a décrire sereinement nos "zoccoletti" sans vergogne et avec la tête haute !
Et puis vu que la trahison personne ne la cherche, mais tout le monde la trouve, la Biokip Gallery désire offrir a tous la possibilité de raconter son experience: vous avez eu a faire a un Zoccoletto? Ne le garder pas pour vous , pourquoi ne l'exposeriez vous pas ?
Armez vous de papier et stylo, pinceaux ou spray, appareil photo numérique ou argentique, en somme défoulez votre créativité et envoyer vos travaux à la Biokip Gallery (avec dossier complet: autorisation pour l'exposition, contacts, titre et auto-certification de propriété de l'œuvre).

(una exposición sobre la traición)

La Biokip Gallery es una realidad activa desde hace tres años que organiza periódicamente exposiciones de arte contemporánea: entre gráficas, pintura, ilustraciones, street art, fotografía, video arte e instalaciones se presenta como el espejo de las más eclécticas culturas, y controculturas, del underground. En la próxima colectiva, que tendrá lugar en Milán en el mes de Abril, el equipo de artistas y creativos Biokip se dedicará al tema de la traición, en clave irónica, pero nunca banal, como siempre en una insólita mezcla de imágenes, palabras, objetos y sonidos. El título de la exposición no podía ser otro que "Zoccoletti & Zoccolette", una celebración libertaria de todos los traidores y traiciones, que invita a olvidarse con serenidad del propio zoccoletto, sin vergüenza y con la cabeza bien alta. Y dado que nadie se busca la traición, pero a veces se la encuentra, la Biokip Gallery desea ofrecer a todos la posibilidad de contar y mostrar la experiencia personal: habéis encontrado a un "zoccoletto"? No guardéis la mala experiencia sólo para vosotros, sino sacarla a la vista! Tomáis papel y bolígrafo, pincel y spray, digital y computadora y dejáis volar vuestra creatividad. Después enviáis vuestro trabajo a Biokip Gallery (con vuestras generalidades, contacto y liberatoria para la exposición, título y autocertificación de propiedad, dimensiones requeridas: 12cm X 30cm y 350dpi para gráficas etc.). Si pasáis la selección (hasta el 31 de Marzo) podréis participar en la nueva colectiva de Biokip. Qué esperáis? No os sentiréis culpables, verdad??
